When will the Pathologic 1 soundtrack come to steam?

This is the best soundtrack in gaming history least imo. Literally every track is a winner. There is no theme in this game that sucks. Its all a masterpiece my favorites being rubins theme and the iconic steppe theme. The steppe theme in particular is simply awe inspiring, while pathologic 2 also has a great soundtrack there's just not as many tracks that standout like 1. The nutshell theme in 2 is great and the ambiance is very nice. But the tracks in 1 are the major strong point over 2 as well as more storyline choices. The first pathologic had the best soundtrack and I don't want to stream ytube tracks. This game also has an extensive library of music tracks and a soundtrack would be well worth up to 10$. It would probably sell even better than this game considering how many sells this has had and how much its been spread around. This is a go to gift on sell for any good friend (which I have about 2 or 3 on steam) so I love promoting this series its a masterpiece. But the soundtrack is really the only game soundtrack on steam I'd ever buy. And I don't want to buy 2's soundtrack out of principle. If I can't own this soundtrack why would I want 2's so I can have an incomplete music library for this amazing series?

Why can't they release the soundtrack? How much effort would it take to slap some tracks on the steam store? Or is there something I'm missing with the license between tiny build and devolver? Either way I really wish they would release it, I don't buy game soundtracks at all but I'd gladly buy this one. That's how good this games soundtrack is.

i don't follow the developers super closely, but as far as i know - the compositor for the first game only ever worked on P1 and havent been a part of the studio since then.
i have no idea of the relationship between them, it may or may not be good?

so im assuming there could be some licensing issues with the original composer?

also there is simply a technical neuance that P1 soundtrack is made to loop with most tracks being between 30 seconds and a minute. there are long compositions of course, but most of the music you hear while walking is a 30s loop.

im sure a lot of people would love to buy the soundtrack, but it may or may not be doable

I didn't know that, although not all the songs are on a loop especially indoors, if you notice rubins theme indoors plays in its entirety. Also from what I've seen on ytube listings the battle themes are very short to begin with, but the steppe theme is actually quite long.

Altho not sure how it is in game, the steppe theme could be like you say on a loop. Thanks for the info its interesting to know. Maybe they could set up a deal with the original composer or composers and share some profits with them. But I guess if its to much money and there's no chance of a profit then I can understand. Awesome soundtrack though my favorite in gaming.

The soundtrack (or most of it, anyway - a few tracks are missing, such as Most Disease, Most Aggression, and District Aggression) comes bundled with the GOG version of the game, if you did want to support the devs that way.

I did not know this but the soundtrack alone sounds like a good reason to get the gog version.

The GOG version of Classic HD should also come bundled with the original English translation of Pathologic (2005), which is an interesting curio if nothing else.

That also sounds cool I’ve heard people bash the original translation but am curious to see what was so bad about it.

I’ve already got all achs on steam and been through the game about 4 or 5 times with different characters. So I probably wouldn’t play the gog version much but the soundtrack alone is worth buying. Just wish there wasn’t so many differences in client versions.
