They might be seeing if it works for users here and then push an update through GoG if it does(?) Found a forum here https://www.gog.com/forum/pathologic_classic_hd but nothing on stuttering fix
Huh, thats strange. I have Pathologic HD classic in my library on GoG and when you click on "view forum" it directs you to the General discussion page. That's the default page for games that don't have a forum on GoG. Pathologic 2 does have a forum however. In any case, there isn't near as much activity on GoG forums, which is probably why the developer is updating here, and not over there.
The beta unpacks the sounds.vfs file, which we figured out how to do in the thread they linked at the beginning. If the gog version has sounds packed together into a vfs file, unpacking that file might do the trick for you.
Link to thread in cased you missed it: https://steamcommunity.com/app/384110/discussions/0/1836811737983337599/
And, to the devs, thanks for implementing a fix. I tried to test it, but it seems as though my new hardware rectified whatever issues the game was having with the sounds on my end, since the stuttering appears to have gone, even with the sounds still packed into the vfs.
That being said, I tried installing the beta as was done, and noticed the stuttering issue was still present. This of course was with VSync off and uncapped FPS, (Assuming either of those would affect the beta or if FPS Capping is even possible) for all I know this could have to do with my particular processor or I could've gotten the thing installed improperly. I'll be willing to give further feedback though.
