Imagine putting your life priority over some Youtuber instead of yourself. Man, this is just sad.
Fact is, while this is a game probably worth making a 2 hour video about... It's a very hard game to recommend. Especially since the sequel is a much easier game to get into.
There are that many games on the market, if a game is bad, throw it aside there are plenty more.
It's still a good game in that it really nails a few key elements so well that it has a small cult following. But it only has a "small" following because everything else is bad. In some cases like the combat or the ridiculous amount of very slow walking you do; it's REAL bad. It's telling that the best parts of the game are the soundtrack and the dialog screens, as it makes the rest of the game feel like nearly 20 hours of padding per playthrough.
The sequel fixes most of these problems and is probably an overall better game because of it. But it's only got one story route right now.
Most of the mysteries get explained, but it's possible to miss explanations because you said the wrong thing in a dialog and ended a dialog early by asking the wrong thing. You kind of need to avoid asking questions you already know the answer to and sometimes feign ignorance in order to get NPCs to give you crucial information, and sometimes info is only hinted at in one character's story and then fully explained in another's.
Hopefully you have a full 60 hours you can set aside if you want to figure everything out. Oh and the game has 2 secret endings which you can sort of lock yourself out of.
Honestly I'm not sure if I'll ever manage to complete it once, let alone three times, but hey you never know
