Help the people

First playthrough as bachelor, first day.

Certain people asked me to help those townsfolk by find murderer, protect other people... yeah.

Saw a random man out of nothing start beating a women. I'm a doctor, now in charge to help those people. I put my scalpel away and started defending the woman with my bare hands, as a man of honour.

Now everyone hates me... how can I keep my good reputation and helping the people?

The townspeople are attacking random women because they believe they're the shabnak. It's wrong of them, of course, but if you attack civilians who think they're protecting their town from a demon you'll get a reputation hit. You can do it anyway and just make up the difference by giving medicine to plague victims or fighting knife-wielding muggers, if you feel like it would be in character.

Those 2 options or giving 100 gold to an NPC that walks around but he only starts appearing on day 3 or around that if I'm not wrong

Would have been nice if there would be something they say to express their intention ("There's the demon, kill her!"). So I just saw a woman attacked by random men.

You can ask the women around town "Why are women being attacked?" and she will tell you the reasoning.

Don't worry, when I saw that happen I got confused too and thought I should have done something.

Sometimes helping the people is really difficult. Saburov for example wont help my by the most crucial tasks due to his ego.

I think this is something the developer want to show us in this 'Plague Simulator'.
