Linux and/or Mac OS Support?
I would like to see Linux support.

Honestly speaking I had no problems with Windows 7, but 8 and 10 were nothing but problems for me. As I told Mega Missingno when I first started using Linux (about 2 years ago, back when I used Ubuntu instead of Mint), I left Windows because of how easily infected by viruses 8 and 10 were compared to 7, and that Linux was basically my escape route from that madness. Also in the Director's Cut I rambled about how many of my games even had Linux support, but I cut that scene for a reason.

As someone who owns every current-gen console (or whatever you refer to a Switch as, some don't consider it a console) for the sake of exclusives and games that don't have good PC ports, I have no problem compromising for the sake of my goals (which is usually to inhabit all realms of gaming that I care for). However I also know that going back to Windows is a hard pill to swallow, mainly because Win10 is such a step back from Win7 in so many ways for me.

I guess dual-booting would be an option, but only time will tell if I bother to go back. Only thing I know for sure is that this system is getting too old for it's own good, so the sooner I can use it as a work-only computer the better.

Man, glad I didn't buy this when they promised linux support. Game still looks great but when my friends have a game night we're using the linux home theater pc in big picture mode because windows auto borks itself too much and always has dumb popups that make us break out the keyboard and mouse. It's a shame it sounds like it doesn't work in proton either but I'm not gonna deal with windows just for this game.

I'm pretty sure you can get it running fine on Linux just heard that it may have issues with controllers duplicating.

The game runs with proton, except the tutorial is uncompleatable with my controller because the character will always run 100% of the time, regardless of any settings.
Another year goes by with still no word at all.

It works with proton out of the box. Okay you need to tick 1 checkbox.

They promised this port years ago and now they're just ghosting us. I don't want to hear excuses.

Did the devs actually say anything contradicting their plans for a Linux port?
1.2M | Missingno. Jan 17, 2021 @ 4:53pm
Well first they said it was coming soon after the Xbox port, that came and went with nothing. Then they said soon after the final DLC character, and that didn't happen. Then they said it'd be out by the end of 2018, didn't happen either. Then they said soon after the Definitive Edition, but DE came out quite a while back and we still haven't heard another word since. They've been completely silent, it's conspicuously absent from the 2021 roadmap they recently posted. Ctrl-F 'linux', 0 results.[fornace.medium.com]

Don't accuse me of not reading when there's literally been nothing to read. They ghosted us.

No. It's all here in this thread, go check for yourself. This dude has been crying for literal YEARS over their inability to read. It's amazing.

Also not what I said. But I did just go over everything they've previously said, and the fact that they've been dead silent ever since. Clearly you can't read.

See you in 2022 when the port that's supposedly coming oh so soon still isn't out and they still aren't saying anything.
