Agreed. I wish online multiplayer were a higher priority
I don't know if Free For All is a good idea but 2v2 I would like to see. I usually play Smash 4 in 2v2 for glory and it doesn't feel like "a party mode". There are strategies that do and don't work. Skill is required to win a team match. I think that two different characters combing their stage control abilities to win could be very interesting to see. However, for 2v2 to work this way, I'd think that characters abilities should help one another. For example, Wraster's Side Special should give his teammate a speed boost and Forsburn's smoke should hide his teammate and etc. A 2v2 like this could still keep a competative vibe.
Free For All would not be a good thing. Free For All is fun in smash games. I play FFA (free for all) with my friends occasionally and it's is usually a fun time. I've tried it in RoA and it is not fun. It becomes too hectic on the small stages and the characters don't feel right being played in this mode. Player skill gets thrown out the window and spamming moves becomes the best option. Too many things would have to change in this game for FFA to work and it would not be worth the effort to bring FFA to this game.
But it would still be kind of fun though.
i mean, in a friendly match it could be an option- my friends asked if FFA's were possible and i guess they can't be the only ones who wanted it
However, team is more likely to happen so fighting for that is a better option. The programming would be easier if the teammate is local. Team is something that has been discussed in the past as being in the game at some point.
