The best controller?
I currently use an xbox360 gamepad for my games. Problm is that it's 6 years old and is really worn down. I need a new controller. I don't really want to buy another 360 controller, so what's a good alternative?

^really? I don't think I could ever play that way. I grew up on the controller. Good for you though!

Anyways. that's not a bad option for this game but there are a few games that I use a controller for, so does anyone know a good controller brand?

I was playing with my gamecube controller through a wii u official usb adapter. After a while I felt like some of my inputs were not responding well so I switched over to my wired xbox 360 controller. Since then I have felt like my controller is responding much better. It could all be in my head but it seems to have fit for me. I also feel like I can wavedash faster on my xbox controller.

If I was going to recommend a controller I would probably go out and buy a wired xbox one controller. Seeing as how the game just was released for xbox one, it will most likely become the standard. Lots of people do prefer the gamecube controller from being smash veterans. Experiment with stuff everyone is different. Like the post above said, some even play with the keyboard. Good luck!

There is a reason for this. Unlike smash, Rivals uses a purely digital blocking/dodging button, so it's very possible for it to end up delayed or misregistered on the long analogue triggers of the cube controller. The timing also tends to be rather flaky because of this.
For this reason, I recommend a controller with comfortable digital shoulder buttons that are reliable. I switched to a Horipad PS4 mini controller, and while the analogue precision of the sticks is decidedly B-tier, it's good enough for moving in Rivals, and the digital buttons otherwise respond much more consistently.
If possible, though, using something that doesn't require SteamInput for compatibility is best, as SteamInput adds another layer of input delay and jitter.

Cube controller is the most comfortable to play with, but when you want to do well, it's possibly the worst.

For me, I tend to use an Xbox One/Series X Controller (wired because that's normal). Of course, not everyone is gonna like using a simpler controller. For instance, Smash veterans tend to use a Gamecube controller as their go-to controller. I'm just a new gen player, so I use what I already have, the aforementioned Xbox One/Series X Controller. :maypul:
