Player base?
Are people still playing this game? As a huge smash fan I would like to play this game. I tried Brawlhalla but I dont like it. When I look on steamcharts I see that the avarage active players are 60-90... I dont want to pay 15 euros just to see that there is no player base left.

60 players is nothing... These 60 players can all be veteran players for all I know and since I will just be a noob in the beginning I dont stand a chance. I dont mind to improve and learn, but 60 players just seems way too low compared to other online games where you can just play casual to learn all the charcs and improve. But its fine if you say that 60 players is ok for this game and you can easily get into matches. I was just wondering why so few people play this game. It looks great and since lots of people enjoy smash games.

True ;) I will probably buy this game later this day. Thanks for your insight
As an illegitimate player with 220 hours logged since I've hopped on everyday since january when i got it, >.> some peeps are at like in their thousandth hour. Anyways It is a great game, a lot like project m, not as intense with the learning curve. Wave dashes are easier, which makes wave landing a bit more consistent, weight classes are a bit easier since there is only eight characters but each of those eight characters are completely unique (my favirote is the krag-cancer ;P). They are still havent released the full version and when they do the developers will continually be adding stuff which makes me happy, since project m got staled at that last version cause of nintendo. The only thing that is a con for the game is that they are trying to not just make another smash clone, like for example for DI when u get hit, if you are moving more than a certain amount of frames per second you only get half DI. Which makes some playstyles more risky. On the note of fighting good opponents who wreck you, you only get better fighting those guys. And when you finally land a stock or two on them, or even a game, it feels amazing. I love this game just for how quickly I can hop on and find a match, because unless it is like 3 am in the morning (and even then) there usually is one lonely soul or two there to comfort my bloodlust. :)
And it is not that there is no playerbase, it is that it is still growing. Since it is friendlier than project m, I bet more newbies will be coming around who havent even competively played smash as the months go by. I would know, I was one! :) Still am.

The community is still here, and there are plenty of people who can give insight to those who seek it.

I can usually always find a game. For me it gets harder after 12am but there is always people on. On top of that, just friend people in the discussions and have a friendly match :)
I'd rather play friendly over matchmaking

If you do decide to get this game, friend me. ill always play a match with ya!

Check out the EU discord as well: https://discord.gg/0XU22LeXTgWhyZ6c
Should be plenty of EU players there to help you find a game and learn the in and outs.
