we need a better custom character selection menu
when you have a lot of characters, only seeing pages of icons, and half cut off names isn't always enough. and they are in a seemingly random order, instead of alphabetical, no less. it would be much easier if every character was in alphabetical on a full screen selection menu.

That's an amazing idea, I agree with you bro. 👍👍👍

I don't know if it's possible, but I wish you can even create a custom character slot, and make certain pages containing those character, but I don't think that's going to work.

I think full screen selection sounds neat, but what is with local multiplayer?
You can sort workshop items in Extras > Steam Workshop, by the way.

they should make a button to download all

yea that helps when you already know your character's icon, but i think we can do better than that. at least let us sort them alphabetically

As Sig said, you can sort them manually (Though it is time consuming), but in addition you can press backspace on keyboard or select on controller to create a category. The name of the category will show up on the top of your workshop select menu when you are in it, and prevent anything not part of the category from showing until the next page.

yea that would go really nice with a better selection menu, and maybe an autosort

actually, would you happen to know what file it is that saves the organization? it would be nice if i could share that with friends

update... i can send the folder organization, but the characters inside the folders are completely wrong... i imagine it's something to do with the steam workshop itself, as giving them ALL my appdata files did not correct the order. hopefully there's a way to properly give them all your organization

I thought this would be shown on the Steam Workshop Screen, so I didn't mention it. But yeah, it helps out a lot, even though it is tedious.

To share it with your friends, make a collection in the Steam Workshop. Instead of, you know, sharing all your AppData folders with them... Is easier, and less chaotic.

Regardless, there is a order.roa file, and a categories.roa file in
C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\RivalsofAether\workshop
These files save your workshop order and your categories. If you don't have these files, it's probably because you didn't sort them yet.
order.roa can contain references to your username (on your PC, not from Steam or Rivals) if you have mods saved in AppData, these would have to be replaced with the username of the friend you're sending the file to.

Also, why did you share AppData anyway, downloaded mods are saved in
Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\383980
The only thing relevant for you in AppData IS only order.roa and categories.roa, except you have made mods yourself and saved them there.

Would be cool if the game just created multiple pages of the main character select screen. It would be cool to see custom characters in the main roster instead of just the gear icon, plus it would be cool to see people update their mods to have those special portraits that go for the main character select screen. If they did this then they could use the gear button as a replacement for a page turn button to flip pages for the rest of the characters. They could even incorporate that category feature they currently have to make those the specific pages too. So many ideas to make improvements to the custom character selections.

Regardless I'm just glad the workshop exists because some of the modders here make some EXCELLENT content (including my character that's being modded into the game by one of those awesome modders. can't wait!)

all my (game) appdata files lol, and that would include the order file.... and i shared them because these are the same files you are telling me to give them lol. ill try the name editing in the order.roa. hopefully that works.

looking at the file, though, it seems like each individual workshop mod has it's own path... so i'd have to change every single one of those to give compatibility. I don't see anything username specific, but i do see a little segment that says "NUL" before each path. not sure what it's for. using notepad++

notepad++ seems to have a replace function.. so as long as i don't need to mess with any of the "NUL" parts, this might be doable.
