PS4 controller won't work properly

Hey guys. I tried launching roa and found that ps4 is barely compatible with the game. Im using DS4windows to connect my controller. I tried running steam in big picture mode and nothing changed. Any advice?

RoA is very compatible with the ps4 controller, not sure what you're talking about. Either switch RoA's controller mode to dinput in the settings or enable the xinput wrapper for ps4 controllers in the big picture controller settings menu. Stop trying to use ds4windows

when i go to set my custom controls the game registers o and x as the wrong buttons. it registers o as x and x as square. Triangle is normal. Also when setting controls the buttons won't work unless i input a direction with the L stick. This also happens in game as well. Any fix for this?

why did you quote my post if you didn't even seem to read it? Stop using ds4windows and do one of the two things I said. If you're going to insist on using ds4windows, go get troubleshooting advice from them.

why dont you take a minute and think. Hmmm this person clearly saw the post and replied to it maybe that means he stopped using ds4windows and tried what you suggested and he is still having trouble. Stop making really dumb assumptions.

If you're getting the problems you described you've messed up your drivers or haven't actually uninstalled ds4windows. You should spend less time posting irrelevant insults and more time troubleshooting your own system. If you had "taken a minute to think" and "stopped making really dumb assumptions" you might have it fixed by now. Good luck.

Well I haven't made any assumptions and yeah i did take a minute to think and tried to solve the problem myself but w/e

i never used DS4Windows till some games did not support directimput devices so i was forced to use it and i have never looked back since but some games that do have directimput and you try to use directimput when you have ds4windows you will have problems.
