Orcane feels kind of OP

I don't want to be that guy, I really don't.
I'm not saying this out of spite for Orcane. I have loads of fun playing him. But I just got Rivals very recently, and in online play, thats all I seem to be seeing. I even tried Ranked once I thought I was good enough, and there were 5 different players, all always picking Orcane. I did win a few, but other times they were just absolutely destroying me. Is there some sort of strategy to counter him, or am I just doomed to a life a being this whale's punching bag?

I used to have the same problem with etalus and absa but after playing them for a while and figuring out where they are weak and flawed i was able to adapt. Knowing how to fight a certain character just comes with time and practice. Orcane is my best character and i struggle against forsburn more than other characters, but that may just be me and not him being a "counter"

I believe that you are just unlucky. Many people have played this game for 500+ hours and are very good, and really anyone can beat you easily with any character. It may just be luck that you keep finding orcane players, as literally every character in this game has the tools and combos to destroy any new player. As for strategies for fighting orcane, some basic stuff may include just staying away from his puddle on the ground and guarding it when it looks like he has to get back onstage using it. However, if you are very new to the game, the chances are you will still get you ass kicked regardless (no pressure). There are lots of advanced mechanics and combos in Rivals, so you would probably be best off trying to learn the basics and then get into the advanced stuff before you learn little things like how specifically to beat Orcane. If you want tons of help, make sure to check out the rivals of aether discord, as there is an enormous number of highly skilled players there willing to offer help.

Thank you. SO much. While its not exactly the response I was hoping for, its about what I was expecting. My problem with Orcane is just the fact that I seem to make one mistake and get comboed into infinity, with no chance of escape. Though, I've also been destroyed in a similar manner by Maypul and Etalus. I'll check out the discord for sure though.

I use Orcane because water is my favorite of the four clasical elements. That, and teleporting is fun. Sometimes I'll just spam UpSpecial just to piss off my opponent, even if it costs me the fight.

It was directed towards crews. But no, the fan base, as well as the competitive scene, are doing fine if not better.
