Brawlhalla is SUPER casual. If you're the guy that thinks "Oh, Super Smash Bros is a great 4 player party game, I love it!", if you're the guy that plays on Poke Floats and use items, if you're the guy that finds yourself button mashing more often than not... this is the choice for you
Rivals of Aether is... basically Melee. This is the choice if you're the guy looking at tier lists, if you're playing Fox only, no items, Final Destination.
Uhm... excuse me? Melee is still played today because of how much it's loved. The game is 15+ years old and still at Evo.
I guess that's fair... Brawlhalla is easier to pick up and play. Rivals has a much higher skill cap, making it hard (sometimes frustrating) to learn. I have A TON of experience with Super Smash and admittedly I'm struggling to complete one of the advanced tutorials. In my defense I bought Rivals a few days ago. After you set up your controller and you get used to the movement in Rivals, I think it's a lot more satisfying.
As for Brawlhalla, it is more basic. That's not a bad thing however because the audience it's catering to is more casual.
Which is a damn shame really, I guess it's because of the netcode not being very good?
Tis a shame though would be nice to have 4 player matches with my friends
Why ever bother buying a new version of a game (I.E. Brawl or Smash4 when they came out) when you have a previous one?
