Any chance for cross play?

I've been playing this game as a couch party game with a few of my friends, and the game is fantastic. I really want to know if cross play is ever going to come for this game. The only difference I've noticed is xbox doesn't have shovel knight. Will cross play come when shovel knight is released to xbox?

I would sacrifice Steam Workshop in a heartbeat for the ability to play with friends on other consoles

But also if they wanted Steam Workshop AND Cross-Platform capabilities they could have a button on the Rivals Extra screen that let's you swap between PC only and Cross-Platform.

Also those that would be worried about PC players destroying console players, it would be the exact opposite unless the PC players are using a controller, which is honestly the only way to play fighting games

No cross play. That would require remaking the game for it plus waiting for console updates to drop before releasing the pc updates plus custom servers and upkeep which... no. Pc players would probably be at a disadvantage because many console players run wifi (ew) instead of wiring up and that messes with performance across the connection but no real way to tell. Also best pc wrastor in the states is a keyboard player and many others use keys too if anyone's concerned about controller preference being an issue. Keyboard kinda slaps.
