i can't play with workshop characters, help

i install the characters but when i go to the character selection screen it only has the default rivals and the random button, please help

Ah, you have to go to your game properties in your library and enable the beta branch for workshop compatibility

i dont see the option to use the beta

1. Right Click Rivals of Aether in your Steam Library.
2. Select "Properties".
3. Click the "Betas" tab.
4. In the drop down labeled "Select the beta you would like to opt into", select "workshop_branch - Workshop Beta."
5. You will see your Rivals of Aether update in your steam library.
6. When it's done launch RoA. When you hit the character select screen you will now see a gear / cog icon in the middle. Select it and you will have your subscribed to characters from the workshop sitting there in a list to choose from.

Hope this helps.

As a side note, if you want to play these characters online you can only do so in friendlies and your friend needs to also have the character installed from the workshop.

It says none when i go into "Select the beta you would like to opt into" and it won't drop down

Not sure on that one. Maybe try uninstalling Rivals and reinstalling and see if the drop down appears. You should have A LOT of options when you select the beta you want to opt into.

Hey, so I found the problem - you need to turn on your steam setting for beta participation. Here's the link as to how to do this - https://www.wikihow.com/Enable-Steam-Beta
Once you've done that, try the instructions inverlock gave you. It should work then.

I have this set to participate in beta and I still don't see the beta drop down

same it isn't working. i un and reinstalled, opted out of and into the betas, and tried restarting everything including my computer haaaaalp
