we bought this game (my friend and me) but can we play together 2vs2?

But I think I read that you can play a 2v2 with random people and your friend

My friend and I just refunded because of this. You can only go VS them, online :( I'll gladly re-purchase if we ever get the option to do so in the future. Wish this was explained a little more clearly on the store page.

the netcode is too horrendous for fully online teams, what do people not get about that?

Check out Brawlhalla, same type of game but it is free and has online and teams. I stopped playing this game also since the online was horrible.

i hate those who hate this game im a constant player with 100s of hours on this round 206 on abyss and i really dont like those who comment hateing the online mutiple games have bad online includeing the smash bros wii u where u can get horible online experience and there a muti billionair company so stop complaining just play its a great game they even have a dev mode where u can edit ur charcters and make them more fun if u want to u can change charcters completely if u wanted to

You are incorrect. He can't play 2v2 online, teamed up with his steam friend.

I'd say netcode needs changing before they even think about doubling the connections involved in a match.
