Hi RIOT cobra CPL

I'm one of the Nimbatus developers. First, thanks a lot for liking the game and posting. I'll post here, because other people also like the game and have posted here ( https://steamcommunity.com/app/383840/discussions/0/6462188978475696307/ )

It's really great to hear that you and other players want more of the game. That makes us very happy!
The game has been in Early Access for quite a while, and got lots of improvements and content updates. After that duration, it got released as 1.0 and then got another final update. So for us the game is final and complete, not "abandoned".

The "games as a service" model, where games are updates continuously, is only viable for a few special cases, for example: very successful games which made so much money, that the studio can afford to keep releasing free updates, or the studio releases paid DLCs, which only makes sense, if there's enough demand/big playerbase for it.

Nimbatus is neither of the two, so there's no on-going update cycle which we abandoned. Nimbatus got completed and finished roughly 4 years ago.

I'm only speculating here (and there are no plans for it), but if there will be ever more Nimbatus, it will be most likely in form of a new product, since we learned so much in the last few years, that it's probably better for everyone (developers and players) to start from a clean slate and build something new and better, than small updates.

Thank you everyone for your understanding and liking Nimbatus.

Cheers,
Markus

Almost no matter what, any new nimbatus game would be something I would buy. I already commented on the previous thread, and it's still up in the top 10 games of all time in my opinion.

maybe add a mod update for the workshop (more parts) and maybe an explosion size thing (using the average armor block for measurment unit) for custom weapons, the first is to make the players capable of making their own stuff (this idea would be part of the last (proposed by myself) update) and the explosion size thing would be for a prefinal update, leaving the game for the community to countinue what you left for them

Iv eyed this game since its release, and only bought it recently. Even when i did, i had it sitting for a while before i started

My god is this game a sleeper gem. Its truly amazing, way more than i expected. Its good to hear the devs response to such a question too

So what follows from me is, how mod friendly is the game? How easy would it be for someone to get in there and say, increase the number of weapon upgrade slots, make tweaks to the base game in some ways, this and that. General modding stuff

I feel like if Nimbatus is in a completed state development wise, the next best course of action would be community modding. Those with the skill and desire can continue to make content for the game, which all can enjoy

Not sure if this already exists, i only ever see drone builds on the workshop. But id be very interested in mods, or trying to make some myself
