The Ship Murder Party Question

Little question, probably not the right forum. But how can I play the old classic with a friend of mine? If I use Steam > Server > The Ship it says ''Server not responding''. Is there anyway I can just play with him alone?

Is it a particular server that's not responding? I just tried to connect using that method and it worked OK.

I tried every server, but it keeps saying Server not responding. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I start the game ''The Ship Murder Party'', alt tab to my desktop, browse to Steam > Servers > The Ship, click on a server to join, and I recieve a small pop-up saying ''Server not responding''. It does that for every server.

However that menu quickly closes, so I had a quite big fight making a screenshot of it.

You don't need to start the game - you can go directly via Steam > View > Servers. I've tried a couple of times and did see the server not responding box - but the game loaded straight away as normal.

It looks like having the game open is the problem - try it without starting the game up.

You are right, it works when not having the game open. Also, some servers say 16/32 or 8/16, but it looks these are just bots?

Because everyone is called ''shipmate1'' till 16.

Names such as shipmate1 are bots. Likely those servers are left running 24/7 but there will be players popping in and out from time to time.
