I use art of real people with their official permission, as they label their art themselves on the particular site I use as "non commercial", "commercial" or also "personal".
When someone labels their art as "commercial" you can use it even for your commercial game, because the artist themself gave the permission to use it to the public. When someone labels their art as "personal" on the other hand, we can´t use it. So we search for the art with the right label.
You can still customize your facesets with it, depending what artist you choose.
We of course have to credit that particular artist and stick to the rules the artist wants his art to be used, or else it would be stolen.
So as long as we play within the artist´s rules, we can create awesome facesets without stealing anything from anyone :)
