Report a translation problem
When creating a new project, I assume (In all RPG Maker programs) the files in RTP gets copied to the project folder to be ready for use within the RPG Maker editor.
RPG Maker 2000 doesn't really seem to do that. I thought it was a problem with Steam's version so I got it somewhere else and I get the same black problem.
My solution is to download the RTP and keep it somewhere that's easily reachable (The steam version already has it if you go to "Browse Local Files" under properties)
Open your Project folder on one window and the RTP folder in another window.
Lastly, copy the contents from the RTP folder into the Project Folder.
After restarting RPG Maker 2000, everything should be working as normal again.
Unfortunately, you'll have to do this every time you make a new project. However, that's a small price to pay.
[UPDATE]
There is now a way to fix this without copying the RTP folder all the time. I have created a guide to help people solve this problem, so please take a look if you want to try out this fix.
