Hue stopped accepting Controller input? [Windows]

Hue is no longer working with my Controllers. The controllers WERE working, and still work fine everywhere else, and I can still access the Steam overlay using the PS/Steam button in-game.

I have turned both controllers on & off in multiple different combinations, Rearranged Controller Order, quit the game, Forced On & Off Steam Input Per-Game Setting, uninstalled & reinstalled the game, rebooted the PC, - the glitch seems to be immune to all of it.

Order of events:
> The game WAS working just fine with either the Steam or PS4 controller.
> As I was starting the game, I wanted to switch from Steam controller to PS4, so I turned PS4 controller on.
> I quit the game to avoid the bug that causes the color wheel to open each time I enter a room (it only happens when I turn on the PS4 controller in-game).
> I started the game to find the controller didn't do anything. All the buttons except the Steam/PS button did nothing.

Additionally:
- The keyboard and mouse still work fine in-game.
- Also I can still "Lizard-Mode" press the PS button to use the controller as a trackpad & mouse in-game, but that's still like using a normal mouse.
- The game still shows the pop-up for "Config Loaded: Hue", and there doesn't seem to be anything amiss with the controls there.
- I looked for a config file that I could modify, but found nothing.

Any ideas? It's like the game irrevocably told itself to not use a controller somehow.

YES!
I found out:
1. This is a recent glitch, since it was affecting "Outer Wilds" too.
2. It can be solved by enabling the Steam beta client update: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7021-eiah-8669

I had Steam Input set to Forced On and then everything worked just fine!
