Can't change color while jumping on PC

I'm stuck on a blue/purple level which requires me to jump and then change color. However, when I jump, clicking the left mouse button doesn't do anything. I've tried a bunch of different things (switching the controls, switchin g the buttons I press, switchng my mouse position) to no avail. I cant even move the mouse while I'm in the air. How do I fix this?

Fixed!: I switched the color wheel from automatic left button to the right click button.
