Stuck on quest objective "Check the Boat"

It's the second quest of the game I believe. Harlow wants you to find a boat. I found the boat, I have a red quest marker on it, I go to it, i approach it from all angles, nothing happens what so ever. I go to the next place where you pick up an engine, I can't pick up the engine because it's probably too early. I'm at a loss, I don't know what I can do to progress, I tried reloading the checkpoint and that didn't work either.

It's glitchy. If i remember correctly i had to press F where the engine goes, the quest should then update to get the engine.
If you can't do it add me and load the level in.

I'll add you but I won't try to take care of it just now. I tried pressing F around where the engine goes, I don't really know where the engine goes though but I pressed around the front and the back of the boat quite a bit, nothing happened.

For anyone else who experiences this little bug?
You melee the boat till the Investigate(F) appears.
It looks like the small mount/shelve at the back of the boat obscures it weirdly.

OMG! Thank you...I was about to shelve the game because I couldn't get past this.
