Check the Boat Broken?

So I'm currently trying to acquire the boat.
Get to the boat.
Cant activate it at all to further the mission...good job

I've tried shutting down and restarting the previous checkpoint, still same thing.
Anyone experienced this or know of a fix? as currently my game is screwed :(

Funnily enough I read a reviewer about a similar problem, but on last gen, wonder if it's the same one, his fix was to drive (with difficulty) into the area and use the car to GENTLY push some quest guy towards the boat until he hit the trigger area.

There is no quest person there.
I have to get in the boat then press action button then get given the quest, "find an engine quest".
But can't activate the boat :(

Ah, ok, the engine part is in a locked building further on, you need to go through the roof iirc there's a thug inside I think. Maybe if you do that it may progress for you.

@Relaxed. Yeah I'm at the right boat, I'm stood on the white flag, of the mission marker, but the boat will not let me interact.

@Fiach I will try that see if that progesses the mission

What are you talking about? I've only created 1 thread in the Dead Island Riptide hub regarding this question. I'm not stupid, one thread is enough to get an answer I need.

Hmm the quest worked for me, but the area was big green circle area no marker on the boat (as they expect you to search the area for it)
Does the quest log still tell you to find the boat?
Maybe it has glitched and missed telling you to find the engine,

I hope locating the engine will be enough to move it along the quest chain, as i dont have any other suggestions right now.

intially it was a green circle, yeah it had me look for it, then as i saw the boat it had a white flag where the boat was.

yeah the quest still states find the boat.

Yeah possibley I'm gunna try locate the engine see if that pushes the quest chain along

I hope so :/ otherwise I may have to start from scratch

Ok sorted it.

I ventured to the engine, was unable to intereact. so I headed back to the boat.
The boat had mysteriously moved. the interactable/investigate icon was were the boat once was and I had to jump onto an invisible block so then I could interact with the boat that wasnt there lol.
then after retrieving the engine, i had to pop the engine onto a floating engine block not attached to anything....so slight glitch going on here. I grabbed a few screenshots aswell

Had this problem too, and apparently my boat didn't move but if you crouch near the bot and attack it, your character will push it, making it possible to interact with it, hope it helps if anyone else has this retarded bug

Glad to hear you got it sorted, haven't played it much myself, still waiting for the devs to patch the dlc into the game before I bother with it.
