cant run the save game and when i run it crashes the game indefinetely.+ when i use my old data to create a new survivor there are no items in the new survivor(not even the basic tools that it gives in a new game data). My suggestion is use your survivor data to create the same survivor and start from chapter 7 then head into the bunkers and get weapons(thats what ive done) because you can get your items + more money in the city
Not undoing a ton of hard work because of a bad coding problem.
"Your system mounts an AMD FX chipset, which is known to cause problems such as bluescreens and games refusing to start properly. Unfortunately AMD's FX CPUs are causing a lot of problems with current games. Most of these problems are solved by updating the BIOS/EFI of the system. Please check if there is an update available from the manufacturer of your motherboard and make sure that the latest driver for your mainboard chipset is installed."
Complete cookie cutter excuse as I know others with Intel CPU's running NVidia video cards who have the exact same crash.
Providing them with the Intel crash information, will update with the response.
Yep, Intel CPU and Nvidia Video card here, crashes at the same place. The Tech Support is rubbish.
"Please uninstall your video driver, restart your computer and download the latest driver available from the manufacturer's website. Make sure that all settings are left to standard before launching the game. Please unplug all unnecessary hardware (microphones, headsets, etc.) and make sure that the latest updates for your operating system are installed and try to start the game again."
Going to follow through again and see what comes next.
"Please try to launch the game with as little other running tasks as possible. Maybe another application running in the background (e.g. Glary Utilities or Avast) is causing a software conflict and might be responsible for this error.
Just click START -> RUN... (or use the shortcut 'WIN' + 'R') type in the command MSCONFIG and press Enter. Deactivate all applications under 'Startup'. Save your changes, restart Windows and close or disable all security software (antivirus software, system utility applications, firewall etc.) temporarily and also close all other software still running but not needed for playing Dead Island. Then launch the game.
If you should need more detailed instructions, on how to perform a clean boot in Windows, please follow these comprehensive instructions from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Should the game run correctly after performing a clean boot, please open MSCONFIG again, and activate all startup items one by one to find out which other application did interfere with Dead Island and caused the problem.
If this fails please do as advised above and run our tool again right after launching Dead Island and send us another KMDiag report.
Please check to make sure your game files are installed correctly.
Right-click on the game in your Library list and go to Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
After Steam verifies the game cache, try running the game again.
If this doesn't help just uninstall and re-install the game.
If this doesn't work, please try the following:
- Locate the installation directory of Steam (e.g. C:\Program Files\Steam\) on your hard disc.
- Delete all directories, except for 'steamapps' (this file contains your downloaded games).
- Furthermore delete all files except for the executable file 'Steam.exe'. Start the executable Steam.exe by double clicking. All necessary files will be re-downloaded automatically. You can also use your previous login information again.
If this doesn't help just uninstall and re-install steam complete, maybe that does the trick.
Please try again launching the game with as little other applications running in the background as possible. It's highly likely that another application is causing these crashes since the game worked in safe mode.
The error might also be caused by a mix of minor misconfigurations on your PC which accumulate to such a problem but which are impossible to detect from afar. According to the Windows error reporting Saints Row isn't the only game/application affected. Maybe repairing the current Windows installation or re-installing Windows helps to correct the error, since the Windows error report lists a lot of problem with different applications and games. There are an enormous amount of errors, repairing or re-installing Windows probably helps in such a case.
We are terribly sorry that we can't offer any better solution and apologize for the inconveniences caused."
Not about to do any of this though. Safe mode cannot run the game because the renderer is not active. Steam verify was done two emails. Steam would have nothing to do with this issue and i'm not about to delete my steam files. Of the 300+ games working on my computer this is the only game causing trouble and it's only one scene in the game.
