Also mouse control is horrendous.
For the longest time I used a ps3-like controller (alienware controller with ps2/3 layout) but I just got a 360 controller and it works just fine as well
That said, mouse control isn't horrendous in Psychonauts. If you're too much of a cheapskate to buy a controller, you're not really any worse off since it's never essential, but the last few levels in particular have pretty dodgy platforming, which is agonizingly difficult to navigate with WASD. I prefer the controller 100%. However, Psychonauts doesn't change its UI to reflect the controller use (you still get RMB, Q, and E on your HUD), but there is a patch you can download that uses the original Xbox icons. I can't for the life of me remember what it's called.... PsychoPadder or something?
