Psychonauts Patch - Linux and Mac Update

Hey Guys! As soon as this message is posted (or slightly after) you should see a new version of Psychonauts go live! I'm here to tell you about what's new in this patch, and also give an explanation.

Firstly, this is not the final patch. This one focuses mainly on the audio problems and general stability for Linux. The next patch will be coming hopefully in March, and they will continue until we feel that all versions of the game are in parity. Please report any issues you may encounter here in this thread, or to our support mail inbox.

What is known fixed in this build:

Linux: We tested on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, and I personally feel that the game is in a really good state. Audio was clear and crisp, didn't crash, and it felt like the true Psychonauts experience.

Mac: Mac is the platform that will have the most focus in upcoming patches. The audio issues were the main focus for this patch, and as far as I tested were fixed. Unfortunately, a majority of the graphical issues are still in the game. The next patch will focus on these graphical issues primarily.

PC: This patch shouldn't have affected anyone on PC, aside from making you realize it's been a while since you've played through Psychonauts. Hey, that actually sounds like a good idea right now, doesn't it...

why do PC users have to update if there are no changes? is it just the way that steam rolls with multi-OS titles?

Why do i have to download a 1.4 GB patch if it doesnt affect the Windows variant of the game? EDIT: you guys are fast as hell

Yeah, it appears to be that way for most games.

It's nice to see you guys still update this game.

Just a tip for anyone who "suffers" from the update, disable auto updating for the game or uninstall the game at all if it bothers you that much. It's really not that big of a deal to let it update overnight or something.

Pretty much answered your own question there. It just is how steam handles Multi-OS titles.

You can already play the game in full HD.

this is a non sense,,,,why the hell i must waste all my disk space for useless patch if i own a PC?? Steam must fix this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ASAP! really bored of this, that happen so many times.
