I've seen it reported here that this is yet another old game that needs a frame-cap. Try using a 50 or 60 Hz output mode and V.Sync in the game's graphics options, or limit to under 60 FPS through some other, external manner.

Note; is just a hunch; if it doesn't help I don't know...
