I can't play the game because of a mistake

There are electrical spider web things that blocks you and there's an item to remove them called Cobweb Duster. I didn't buy it from the canteen because it was unnecessary, but now I can't pass the chapter because there's a web that I have to remove, but I don't have the duster. The game says go back to the camp and buy the duster but I can't. Can anyone help?
