After Minefield in Basic Braining

I don't know if it's just me or just playing on a Mac. But after completing the minefield section of Basic Braining, the door seems to shut before I even get through. Some dialogue gets triggered but other than that, nothing seems to open the door again.

I even got the kid across the minefield after a lot of attempts and memorizing the path.

Am I doing it wrong or is it just something up with the game?

and? flag pole was climbed and nothing happens.

verified game files, started new game, still nothing happening after minefield.

Climbing the flagpole should raise a flag, which should open the door. I think I've seen other people have the issue of the flag not raising in these forums and resolving it by doing something with vsync - either turning it off or on.
