Purple Cruller/Ford glowing on HUD

[PS3D]

OK, so I recently picked up Psychonauts to play, and while I'm progressing again (changing the resolution to something higher actually enhanced play instead of being stuck with 600 x 800), there's this glowing thing showing Ford/Cruller in the lower right showing a merit badge with a question mark on it. I think this is a reminder that I can do something with it, but I've tried every button and I can't make it go away or activate somehow.

that's the game telling you that you are now able to recieve a Badge just take out the Bacon and he'll take it from there

So leaving this comment for anyone else who ends up here via google like I did. If you dont know what Hawkins means by Bacon, you probably havent gone to Ford's underground lab yet. Head down there from any tree stump and there'll be a bunch of tutorials to run through with him to unlock your new psychic ability.
