Psychonauts
Most annoying character--Shegor?
This game's got some really great things going for it--especially level-design and the handling of mature themes with lighthearted childishness. Sometimes, however, there are characters that are just annoying. Agreed? Who's the most annoying character for you?
For me, the answer is Shegor. Her FMVs are definitely my least favorite.

Agree about Shegor.
I mean, she should sound like that "typical" cute grandma or something, but that voice is too high pitched. Is like those stupid annoying anime girls.

Good thing is that the devs knew how annoying she was, so they didn't give her such big role. It's more like a filler character made to reference "Igor" from Frankenstein or something.
most annoying character: the bull from Black Velvetopia. El Odio.

by far the most annoying part about that level.
by far.

its not fun to get pushed back all the way because you decided to be a pixel away from where you needed to be.

good world, but my vote for most annoying character is and will always be El Odio.
To each their own. Her voice is a bit much, but I think it is kinda supposed to be, and her character is exactly what it needs to be in so many ways.

And why does she need to be there? Why can't the game exist without her?
You could write any character out of a story if you were really that determined, which you seem to be, so I don't know that it's worth arguing on that point.

Besides, it sounds like it's not her character that bothers you, but just her voice or portrayal.

I'm not saying she shouldn't be there at all. Only that they could have made her portrayal less alienating. Even if they wanted to keep the turtle thing, they could have spared us the glass-shattering, high-pitched histrionics.
Well, it's the same voice actress who played Bubbles from the Powerpuff girls, Raven from Teen Titans and Timmy Turner from Fairly Odd Parents.

She has an incredible vocal range so her voice being so high and bubbly was pretty much a choice made by Double Fine.

As for why they made the choice, I think it was meant for the climb up the asylum to be memorable so it would draw attention to Shegor as she hints at the path needed to climb the tower.

I see that I've given you the wrong impression. What I should have emphasized was not her shrill voice but her absurd histrionics. I found her histrionics and attachment to the turtle to be alienating. Actually, I thought her appearances up the tower were cool until you finally got to know her.

Did you see the scene if you 100% gather all collectables?

Is that even more annoying?

There's an extra scene that gets unlocked that has Shegor, Mr. Pokeylope and Linda.

In other words, I should be glad I didn't take the trouble?

Up to you.

I do find it funny that Linda and Mr. Pokeylope have romantic history.
