psychonauts not downloading

Psychonaughts is one of my favourite games and i wanted to replay it, when i went to reinstall it, the game """downloaded""" in one second with 0byts downloaded, and when i pressed play a pop up said "unknown error"
(I'm playing on a mac, but it should be mac compatible, i think?)
Should I delete it and re-buy it? or would that have the same problem?
or delete my old game data somehow? maybe it's trying to find my old save file which isn't on this computer
any ideas or help would be appreciated!

Try going in the local files and completely delete Pyschonaut's folder; then try again.

Same issue here. I've uninstalled the game, cleared download cache, deleted local files, restarted, every combination thereof.

Same here. I had to restore a Time Machine backup of the game files to get it working.

Guys, Psychonauts became a glitchfest. At this point, I highly suggest you to get a refund instead.

ive tried all of the above, and nothing worked, thanks for the advice tho! makes me sad that I cant play it anymore. maybe it'll fix around the time psychonauts 2 comes out (fingers crossed)

If I had a nice connection I would have uploaded the entire game online for you to download.
But I fear that once I finished, your refund is already expired.

i'm getting the same error and download problems, we'll just need to wait for someone from DF to recognise that people are having problems with it

Came here to find out what is going on, and yeah on MacOS it's still going on. I'm using Mojave because I like 32bit, but yeah .... 0bytes instant download empty directory.

A tad late, but I've been having a very similar issue myself. The only difference is that I'm given an error message instead of a blatantly unknown error: OS Error 4294956469. I then get an alert from Finder, reading, You can't open the application "Psychonauts" because it may be damaged or incomplete.

I've deleted the application and uninstalled it from my computer multiple times. Every time I reinstall, it installs within a few seconds and yet I'm still getting the same error message.

I'm not sure if these are similar issues or not, but I find it funny how people have been having this problem since November, which is when this first started happening for me as well. Hopefully it can be resolved on the developer's end, especially if this is a common issue present for Mac users right now. Psychonauts is a brilliant game and I'd hate to be unable to play it again.

Same problem here. I am trying to contact Steam Support and also the developers of Psychonauts! Let´s see if we can have an answer to this!
