Xbox controller will not work

The psychopad or whatever it is for this game will not load correctly or function. I have followed the instructions but it never works. No amount of fiddling with the options menu helps. Any ideas?

Sorry, i absolutely refuse to play 3D platformers with a keyboard and mouse.

You don't need Psychopad for the button prompts to change anymore. Also, the Xbox controller has worked by default on the version on Steam for awhile.

Then why hasn't my controller worked at all? Works fine with everything else. lol

I have no idea why this happens, but my controller is broken and still works fine with the game. A thing i notice (and might be useful) is that if your controller gets unplugged while playing, then you need to re-start the game in order to make it work again

No, my controller is always hooked up 24/7. I've tried starting the game and turning on my controller, i've also had my controller on before i even start it and that still doesn't work. I've tried every combination i can and i can't seem to find a solution. This and Left 4 Dead 2 give me issues regarding a gamepad. Like i said, i don't get why my controller works for everything else but this 1 game. lol

What is the issue with the controller? Does it recognize any input at all? I had similar issues and had to run it in windows 95 compatibility mode

try to re-install or update your controller drivers. Re-installing the game may work too.

I'll start up the game, turn on my controller, and none of the inputs work. The keyboard is the only thing that works.

I've already mentioned this method, it doesn't work for me. I'll start the game with it turns on and off, and no matter how or when my controller is on, it won't recognize. Like i said, it's odd because every game i have works fine with my controller.

I figured out my issue, a very strange and obscure one at that. So i use a wireless Xbox 360 controller. I simply plugged the wireless receiver in a different USB port, turned it on, and ta-da...

Not exactly sure why that worked, but hey...whatever. I can finally play now. lol
