Was Meat Circus made easier in this version?
Or was it just extremely overhyped? The bigest complaint I remember was the escort mission at the beginning with young Oleander and the bunny, but that was nothing. I just TKed the rabbits until he caught up and moved on.

I mean the Steam version. It was originally on PS2 and XBOX, but came to Steam in like 2011 or something.

I don't think so.
People still complain about that section.
Kargor Sep 21, 2017 @ 2:48pm
Yeah, it's still the most annoying level.

Of course, I cannot say whether it's different from PS2 or XBox, since I never had those.

Is easy, of course is more dificult than the rest, but is a easy game in general

Well I've heard it called impossible by some.
Yet I found it really easy and I suspect some kind of patch probably took it down a notch.
There's one jump I had trouble making, but it seems that you do not even need to make it as if you fall on the safety net you are brought to the platform you had to reach instead of the one you were on. The safety net and the generous timer were hardly an issue too, if it was one of those cruel platformers you would fall to the ground and have to climb back up with a huge hit to the timer.

It may be a controller/keyboard type of thing as very often people whine about how keyboard is really hard to use. That came up a lot on the Jet Set Radio discussions where the common complaint was how to replicate rotating the control stick CW/CCW you had to enter S,A,W,D or S,D,W,A really fast and without misclicking while also focusing on what other inputs the game tells you to do in the minigame. Since at times you had to do like two to three rotations back to back I can see why people found it tough, although I cannot really come to their defense regarding Psychonauts as there wasn't anything remotely close to that level of division between the two.

If it is a patch thing then anyone who knows more please tell me the version where meat circus was not nerfed and I could go ahead and try it out, as at the current state it is hardly an issue.

If anything should've been patched, it should have been that jump near the end of Waterloo World, the one between the roof of the barn and the climbable wall of the tower. That drove me completely nuts.

Meat Circus is pretty much the same, it's just stupidly annoying on account of Oli crying 24/7 and Raz's dad saying RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZZZZZZPUUUUUUUUUUTIN

Yes, Meat Circus was nerfed compared to the :crossbones:original release:crossbones: - slightly lowered difficulty and more frequent checkpoints.

They made some of the jumps easier, might have messed with escort guy's health, and dropped a few extra checkpoints in there. The mission itself isn't too hard, though the railings have a bit of a blindspot that can get you the first few times. Overall, there is a SINGLE platform that ruined that level for me. It took me around five tries to get around the circular cage, mostly because I was on keyboard. The sword swinging was also a new addiiton that can throw off first-timers considering the time pressure.

So, all in all, not the hardest thing in the world. It feels a little extraneous at first, but it definitely plays into a great ending.

The extra checkpoints thing is the best thing ever. I can remember playing the PS2 version - I would finally make it through the escort quest with one life left, mistime a jump on the grind rails and fall, get kicked out into the subconsious hub, and have to restart escorting Olly. So my rage level was high and my patience was gone by the time I got to the platforming section that required both calm perfection and speed.

I did finally beat it on PS2, but to me the words "meat circus" still get mentally prefixed with words that would be censored here.

This might be an old thread but that jump also got me nuts , until i learnt you could be invisible and get to them and throw them with kinesis
