Switch Pro Controller on Mac?

I'm considering buying a Nintendo Switch Pro controller*. But I was wondering how well it works on Steam for Mac, and more specifically with Psychonauts?

Anyone have any experience here?

Or can recommend some other (preferably relatively cheap) controller that works for Mac and with most games on Steam?

(* Only reason I'm considering Switch Pro controller is because I own a Switch. Would not buy it if it doesn't work properly for Steam though)

Apparently it works via Bluetooth (https://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/how-to-connect-a-nintendo-switch-controller-to-a-pc/). If it works well with Psychonauts, I don't know. It will probably work with Psychonauts, but for other games, if the game requires XInput-compatible gamepads, you will have to use third-party programs to emulate XInput via DirectInput. In the article, it says the Switch Pro Controller only works with DirectInput and not XInput.

I'm using the Switch's Joy Cons over Bluetooth now, with the app Enjoyable (https://yukkurigames.com/enjoyable/) that binds the buttons to specific keys. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done.
