Rebinding using Joy2Key for SmartJoy 2 USB adapter
I'm using Joy2Key to use my original SNES controller in game right now. I ended up rebinding the arrow keys to WASD since for whatever reason Joy2Key isn't sending the arrows in-game but they work everywhere else (shrug). If you want to leave the rest of the keys alone in-game without rebinding anything other than directional when you are in Joy2Key make sure to use "Assign special keys..." to assigned Left-Shift and Right-Shift to the L/R buttons.

Use x360ce and it will support it as a controller without having to use joy2key.
http://www.x360ce.com/

Make sure to:
1. Run x360ce.exe
2. Select [Controller #] tab page with your controller.
3. Open [Advanced] tab page.
4. Set "Device Type" drop down list value to: GamePad.
5. Click [Save] button.

Then place xinput1_4.dll and x360ce.ini in the game dir.

I used to use x360ce but found out it was causing the majority of games I was playing not to work
