How to soft reset?
I quick saved and didn't mean to, and now I can't get past the part with Kefka in Narshe. How do I soft reset? This is infuriating.

There is no soft reset, you'll have to Alt+F4 and start the game back up.

Alt+F4 then launch the game. It should take about a quarter of a second longer than soft resetting would have and achieves the same effect.

Alt+F4 didn't work, it still loads my data as a quick save with no option to use the regular save

Instead of hitting continue, select "Load" from the first menu.

There is no "load" option that appears - that was how the original was like, that's what I was looking for

Have you manually saved the game at a save point before? (Not quick save)

Yes, I've manually saved a few times. I made sure to save before this part of the game, I always have a ton of trouble with this part especially. Manually saving is walking over the glowing blue sparkle, right?

Are you going into the menu and hitting save when you're standing in the save point? Otherwise it won't do anything.

No :( When you are standing on the blue sparks or on the world map you have the option to save the game, but you need to go into your main menu to do it.

Just walking over them won't do it.

This is how it was in the original too.

You say you can't beat the Kefka fight in Narshe? What level are your guys abouts?

It should be beatable without any extra grinding. Want some help?

Darn it. Thanks! Guess I'll have to start over. I can't beat him - I quick saved and all of my teams have been killed by him and only have one health point - it's become impossible for me to beat haha.

That fight is actually very easy, but you have to consider how you balance your parties.

Try two main parties and the one that will fight kefka HAS to have Celes in it.

USE RUNIC ALOT.

Then kefka is really easy.

I also would add use Gau in the party with the "Stray Cat" rage. 4 hits from his Cat Scratch attack and the fight was over.
