Yet another FF game with no Offline Mode
I had my credit card out of my wallet, and I decided to see if Square Enix still didn't give two craps before I bought FFVI, and go figure, it looks like they don't. Square Enix, stop making the Internet a requirement for single-player games if you want any respect.

very strange, i'm not having any problems like this. game boots up in offline mode no problem. maybe it's a problem with your computer?

Huh, i saw people were having an issue, and i cannot get it to boot up in offline mode either. Thats very annoying, because i have to switch my ethernet cord between a couple devices when i want to use them, so having to plug my computer in for a single player game is just stupid.
Fixed, can now be played offline :D

There was an update this morning, simply reboot Steam and you should see an update. After the update, the game can be played offline

I remain online anyway while playing games, so... I dont see this much of an issue. But ofcourse you will whine and complain because that's what your username is.

I'm online most of the time, too, but that's no excuse at all, because "most of the time" and "all the time" aren't the same things. Let me know how much you don't mind DRM when it prevents you from playing anything you've purchased in the future.

And I'm glad Square Enix fixed this bug; I bought the game as soon as I saw that it was patched.

Developers that add arbitrary DRM requirements are just asking for people to get 20 year old roms (many NES/SNES roms are past the 20 year copyright grey area) and apply their own filters (because frankly Square is terrible at scaling/porting games to HD). After the FF IX emulated fiasco that should have been a native PC port, I don't even feel like square deserves any respect, they're just wrapping old games into newer platforms in the cheapest way possible to suck money from consumers.
