lol i don't play on laptop, stick to desktop, for travel rather just play something from my 3DS or play something on phone
I had this problem with MGS V actually. A couple weekends a month i have to travel and work in a location without internet, i like to take my laptop with me to play some games and watch films at night when i'm not working, if the game doesn't have an offline mode it won't start and i'll not be able to play until i'm back home with internet. that kinda sucks, no excuse for a single player game.
If you choose to play something else when you travel, then that's fine. You shouldn't be forced into it, like people are in this situation.
I've been interested in some of these Android FF games on my tablet for a while now specifically for when I'm 'on the go', and every time I view them on the store I am reminded that they have this online requirement for some arbitrary reason that defeats the purpose of why I would want to be playing said game on said mobile device in the first place, which is doing nothing but costing them sales.
Does this PC version seriously have the same form of DRM? Ugh..
In my honest opinion, the DRM on the PC port is worse. At least the mobile version only does an online check every 10-20 runs or so...
Couldn´t they at least use the SquareEnix cloud for both, like FF7 did?
If this is true, I am really happy I already have it on Wii VC.
But why they did it with VI is beyond me.
But yes, the game wont open if youre in offline mode.
Thanks, but just to be sure: Did you actually buy it and got a refund, or is this just what you heard? (It does not show you as having the game).
I don't like it if companies use such measures, and I really hope they fix this here and for LR.
Edit: Ah ok, never mind, just saw the other reply. This is quite bad. There really is nothing about this on the store page, or did I just not see it? Really shady (even more!), if it is not there...
