Dispelling the Cursed Shield the easiest way

Wow this is so easy in this version! After you use Locke to un'locke' the doors in Narshe and find the gent with the shield go to the solitary isle. I stuffed a few random party members with some magicite equipped to get some spells and just run around for a while with auto-battle to fight. Took me just shy of 2 hours to dispell the shield! And trust me it's totally worth it :D Just remember to equip whomever has the cursed shield with a ribbon! :D

This was always possible in any version, but it did involve holding down the A button on the SNES controller. :D

What's really kickass is that you can steal Elixirs from the Peeper enemy there, and Megalixirs (!) from another enemy whose name I can't recall.

Yeah yeah the earththingys I ended up stealing like 25 Elixirs lol it was nice ;)

The starting island...I didn't even think of that. Thanks, I may try it as I was using the shield but equipping the "Ribbon" to the character with the shield and going up against okay strong creatures. I may try what you suggested later on today and I know from my youth that the shield is worth the effort in getting it uncursed.

Even easier, just AutoHotkey it. I wrote a quick script for it, set up your autobattle, stand on the grass on solitary island and run the script. It will continually walk up four paces, down four paces, then press accept a few times (to clear end of fight menu).

I'm currently testing another method. In Fanatic's Tower, in the magic jar room. These guys give 5 AP a pop and heal the party. Not as fast per battle as triangle isle, but you can learn spells faster.
