Sadly I can't buy
So the game is not selling anymore, I thought now it's a perfect FF6 remake for my weak laptop, the new remake looks like it won't work well considering my device and the list of requirements, apparently now only piracy users and those who already bought can play this game currently, sad.

They shouldnt have delisted the old versions of 5 and 6 their graphics are good looking in my opinion and they have the GBA content which is great.

I liked the GBA content, it seems that they stopped selling this because it was very negatively criticized and they didn't want to sustain a license to continue selling it, I don't know.

More likely it was never properly supported and they don't want to make any guarantees about it.

It would be nice if they made DLC for the newer ones with the bonus stuff, but that's likely never happening.

The Pixel Remasters got more support from the developers in the first couple weeks than the "old ver" FFV and FFVI got their entire existence.

Yup, I wonder who's more to blame to have allowed the retirement of this forever-classic... Steam or SquareEnix?

Absolutely Squeenix. I'm not sure how you can blame the distributor for charging for its services. It's definitely because Squeenix is cheap and has become a meme company.

Well, I wonder how the representative from Steam whom agreed to withdrawn ff titles from their platform manage to sleep well knowing he did a downgrade in the history of gaming by removing ff titles from sale.

Sadly, SE did remove former ff titles at a time where: GOG games are adding RE2 and RE3; battle.net now sells Warcraft1 & 2; Apple starts selling arcade games plan (iOS); EA starts selling DOS-era games.

Only thing I’m thinking of is not buying new ff titles until SE brings back their masterpieces.

Now that I have better RAM, thinking about buying the current version, but I'll have to deal with the urge left behind of play with the funny character models.

Imagine a FF museum with all FF related titles from every consoles and with all game’s versions ever available to purchase via the same software/hub.

i agree
SquareEnix philosophy: if we remove classics titles, we'll force users into buying pixel remaster series and we'll make more money!!!

GOG: The GOG Preservation Program ensures classic games remain playable on modern systems, even after their developers stopped supporting them. By maintaining these iconic titles, GOG helps you protect and relive the memories that shaped you, DRM-free and with dedicated tech support.

Who likes to play games legally has to accept this, if GOG in the future will be able to legally sell console ROMs of old games it would solve the game preservation problem completely.
