Recommended Dragons' Den Party?
Currently I'm grinding up to head to the Dragon's Den. I have all 14 party members, but since you can only take 12 I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. I know that the best characters vary based on your strategy, but I was hoping someone could give me recommendations on which two party members to leave behind. I want to know ahead of time so I can avoid unnecesary grinding. Curently I'm considering leaving behind Mog and either Umarou or Gogo.

This depends entirely upon how you've built your party. Gogo is a safe bet TO bring though (remember to configure his menu). Personally I'm not one for Umaro but perhaps he has his uses? Gau entirely depends upon if you have good Rages and know how to use them. If you don't know how to use Gau, I'd say leave him and Umaro outside, but it depends entirely upon what you want to do.

Thanks for the recommendation.

I would say don't leave Gogo behind as he can be outfitted for different needs. Plus if you are using the Fixed Dice, you can trade the Final Trump weapon you get first for the Scorpion Tail at the Coliseum, just make sure you wear a Safety Bit or Memento Ring for the Ahriman.

If you are not satisfied with your party, then get all 3 teams together at a save room with a red star and swap them around with it. Just make sure you at least have:

A full team with Rasp for Skull Dragon
At least Strago or Mog or Gogo with Lore when you fight Gold Dragon

If you MUST leave people behind, leave Umaro and 1 character you are not 100% good with. I left Mog back at the ship myself (I felt he was the weakest link and I dont like the Molulu Charm). If you got the Rages, Gau can do some fun ♥♥♥♥ here (slay the dragons, instant kill a couple of annoyances, make an Earth Eater kill himself).

The team you fight Kaiser with must be capable of beating him.

I am also posting videos in the Gau Bible of how to get from 1 dragon to the next if you get lost. Some of my fights I don't Rage, but I do end up kiling Kaiser with Rage Gau. However, I am still uploading them 1 by 1 and adding annotations, I am currently on Part 10 (Skull Dragon prep).

I've already chosen my party at this point actually. Sorry, I probably should've posted that. Coincedentally, I decided on the same party as you. Umarou is strong put the fact you have no input over him is a huge limitation. Mog's dances, while great in the early to mid game aren't very helpful in the late game and stumbling really makes dance a weaker ability. I'm relatively new to RPGs and thus am not the best at prioritizing stats, but Mog's lack of tankiness also factored into my decision.

Lack of tankiness??? Mog is one of the two characters who can reach 255 defense (which means 0 damage from all physical attacks in the back row, 1 from the front) without needing to use Imp + Imp armor set, and since you can null pretty much every element except Holy without a lot of fuss anyways, while physicals are much harder to reduce, that's quite a point in Mog's favor.

Dances suck in endgame, but he can still do decent damage with Holy Lance/Radiant Lance and Dragoon Boots + Dragon Horn combo. He's not someone you want to bring to the Soul Shrine because of that (you want a Ribbon on everyone for it), and not ideal for the last fight of Dragon's Den either (for the same reason), but he can do decently well for himself for most of the rest of the dungeon.

Yeah. Mog and God Emperor Gau, both with Snow Scarves. The former needs a Red Cap and an Aegis or higher shield and the latter having Dueling Mask with any Shield can have max Defenses and still have free reign on their commands. Gau can half every element with the Dueling Mask. Mog has to use the Paladin Shield to go beyond absoring Ice and nulling Fire.

To get them, you have to gamble a spare Behemoth Suit (you get extras from Behemoth King when you encouner them in the Veldt after the boss fight) and you face an Outsider. Either you bring someone with high Physical Evasion like Shadow with a Kagenui, or you arm Gogo with all Sketch and pray Sketch copies Dispatch and kills him.

I didn't use Mog myself because I was making videos for Dragon's Den and it would be incredibly lame if I cheesed through it with Moogle Charms now would it?

Mog stacks up pretty well to all the Dragons except Kaiser. Mog has no armor piercing move outside of dancing (Rock Slide), Meteor or Ultima and the beast has 200 both Defenses. Also, Gungnir's stat gains are pretty bleh compared to the other ultimate weapons, unless you give him a Merit Award and give him Lightbringer. However, he does, as you put it take 1 damage from Last Breath.

He also has the advantage of 1 of the 3 moves who has a healing skill that Runic cannot stop for Gold Dragon (The others being White Wind and Chakra) via Sunbath.

========================

I said before, the God Emperor can do some pretty interesting and brutal things: Instant kill any non-Deathproof with 100% accuracy (Ahriman (Roulette), deosn't target allies), can do near max damage to every Dragon boss with Flare Star, has an assortment of different attacks that can be as effective as everyone else's, can use Coco (Overture) to make Earth Eater kill himself with his own Megaton Punch (even though he is Deathproof). I just don't recommend Raging on Holy and Kaiser Dragons as timing must be very inpeccable.
