2 ?s: Dragons' Den minimum Lv and optional flying boss.
I just have 2 questions I was hoping someone could answer:

1. What is the minimum recomended lv for attempting the Dragons' Den. I tried it immediately after beating the game and was promptly destroyed. I want to avoid excess grinding and make the Dragons' Den do-able while also preventing myself from getting over powered for it (if that is even possible) so it is still properly challenging.

2. I know there is an optional boss you encounter by randomly flying around the world map. I was just wondering if anyone knew any way to increase the odds of the encounters or could explain how it works. Do I just need to fly for x minutes straight or something?

1.) The Dragon's Den is more about strategy and gear than raw level. I think I was in my mid-high 50s when I started it, but I'm not sure off hand. I don't tend to run from random battles (and there are dangerous ones there for sure) so I was higher by the time I finished. Remember that the "optimum" equip setting or whatever it's called in this version only goes off of some of the statistics, ignoring everything else. Some gear nullifies or absorbs certain elements, while other may increase your magic evasion, etc. Re-raise is essential for the more difficult battles if you are lower level (and perhaps at higher levels too). Jump can also be used to help protect a character with lesser gear from attacks, if you don't have enough for the whole party.

2.) Every time you enter the world map one tile has that boss. That means if you cover every tile you WILL hit it. Going at an extremely slight angle for a long time WILL hit it, though that's a bit annoying I know. Going onto the airship or landing will reset where the boss is every time, so the only thing that will increase your chances is NOT leaving the "flying the airship" scene while looking for that boss.

For Deathgaze, he has Auto-Protect and Shell, so you will need to either strike him with Fire and Holy with high Magic for normal damage or use armor piercing options.

If you use Gau, Io (Flare Star) always does 9999, I used Borghese (Holy) cause I was caught off guard and was saving it for Flare Star, but I managed to smite him in 1 pass using Shadow/Cyan/Terra/God Emperor Gau.anyways.

And don't try Deathgaze if your characters got levels divisible by 5 without Momento Rings and Safety Bits.

As for Dragon's Den, I am 63 across the board and I will be starting it soon. I plan on bringing Gau to Kaiser Dragon and actually Raging with none of that Locke Valiant Knife/Ultima Weapon bullcrap everyone uses. I'm not using it but it doesn't mean you can't. However, Kaiser Dragon has been known to OHKO Lockes who do this via Counters quite easily (since you are giving up Relics and Shield to go all out offense).

As Zunnaob pointed out, you will need strategy and smart choices to clear it. I can tell you that most of the enemies can't stand Fire and Holy and quite a few of them aren't Death or safe from Death Gaze (Petrify, but Break checks Deathproofing and Stoneproofing). A few enemies also cannot operate properly without MP, even 1 dragon must be slain by this method.

The bosses all have gimmicks that you need to work against to survive. You just can't run in guns blazing with Masters' Scroll and Ultima abuse and pray enemies will fall.
