Wrong move... Can't get back to airship...

I took the boat from somewhere near the trench to south figaro. however i can't get back on the ship to go back to where i left my airship, because i'm locked out of south figaro by 2 guards and boxes. All i can go to is narshe, the resistance, and the first cavern we go in the game, wich brings me to the resistance. So i'm screwed....
There really should be a patch so we can "call" back our airship. I really dont know what to do and i'm definitively not starting over. (im at the part where i have to go to the portal in the cave, after we know terra's origins)

Hiya, there are two topics about this for more information, right at the top of the discussion. Ill just quote another user ^__^

You must have missed the part where he said he couldn't get back on the boat in South Figaro.

Go to the Returner hideout and at the bottom of the room you first met Banon, you will find the path to the river. The river will take you to the old man’s house where you started Sabin’s path earlier. From there, you can travel west on foot and reach Nikeah.
