Game broke at MagiTek research lab - help?

So... Glitches. Fun times. I got through the opera sequence (much loveliness), tore Ultros a new one yet again, and - yaddayadda - and now I'm in Vector. I entered the Magitek lab, got into an encounter, and then noticed that the area is all kinds of messed up.
Not only are the graphics jumbled (not garbled - every segment looks normal, they just... are not where Square put them), the walkmesh mirrors the glitched visuals. Ie. areas that would be connected before the glitch can't be reached now. I have a Quicksave from this general area, but I think I did a proper save on the world map before entering Vector, so returning to that file won't set me back by even 10 minutes.
That said, if anyone knows a way to solve this using the current save file, I would prefer that.

I'm not sure. The game does have save corruption issues that pop up in topics from time to time.

Hm... Well, my Quicksave maintained the glitch, but when I went back to the previous save (unfortunately just outside of Maranda) I never experienced the glitch. Woohoo! Ifrit, Shiva, I'm coming for you!

Be sure to manually backup your save too. It's in your userdata. 382900 is the folder.

... That's a hella weird folder name. Anyway, I'm up to Thamasa now, no additional incidents so far.

It's the game ID for Steam. Look at this topic and you'll see it in the URL too. Earlier in the folder tree is the Steam user ID number too.
