Gau's rages and galypdes

I have read everything about gau, including the gau bible and gamefaqs post, but I can not get galypdes to spawn.

I definitely encountered him, and he is in my bestiary. However, I never encountered him with 2 chaos dragons... Do I just have horrible luck or should I go back to the Phoenix cavern?

Do you have to encounter the enemy once or the whole formation?

You got REALLY horrible luck.

The Galypdes and 2 Chaos Dragon formation is found in the upper level, but the odds of encoutnering that are slim. You then have a 1/8 chance in the Veldt of rolling it as well on top of it.

As long as the beast has been encounered and you either killed it or ran, it should spawn in the Veldt.

Bit late to the party, but maybe someone else needs help with that one.

I found the formation right after the first button press next to the spikes in the cave. Galypdes only spawns with 2 chaos dragons. If you wagered a item in the coliseum to get the bestiary entry THAT DOES NOT COUNT FOR THE VELDT. You have to encounter it in the phoenix cave with two chaos dragons otherwise you will never be able to encounter it in the veldt.

The chances to encounter it are at least 6,25%.
