Terra somehow gained "Interceptor" status
Im on the floating continent looking for a certain encounter before triggering the scene with Kefka and Ghestal. Just defeated Ultima Weapon and Shadow left. In battle I noticed Terra has Interceptor taking attacks for her as if she was Shadow. Nothing used rippler or any move like that so what happened? I really don't mind since Terra is my main in the game but I'd like to know what happened.

I might have a reason, but I need one question answered, do you use Terra frequently? And was she in your party when Shadow was there?

what happened exactly is I was grinding encounters next to ultima weapon (Platnium Dragons just didn't want to show up) While running around I got bored and talked to Ultima Weapon and killed it. Then Shadow left the party. I think I messed with the order of my party for some reason from Terra/Celes/Relm to Relm/Celes/Terra I guess I thought that would reset the encounter table because it worked in magitek research facility escape for the red Mag Roader. I eventually did get my Platnium Dragon but during the next few encounters I noticed Interceptor would sometimes block and attack for Terra like it does for Shadow.

I think what might've happened is either two things. Either something weird happened during the end of the fight against Atma (weird move, odd series of events, etc), or some sort of memory in the game's code corrupted and sent interceptor to the first available character slot (aka Terra).

The move Rippler trades status effects. Interceptor is a status effect in game. You can permanently lose him. I don't know if foes cast it yet at that point but if they do you lucked out by having one hit Shadow then Terra.

Iirc that is one of the few notorious bugs that didn't get fixed?

The Rippler Bug has been fixed in the Steam version of FFVI, and Silvertalon215 did say in his description, "...nothing used Rippler or anything like that..."

Just an update. After I got back Shadow everything is back to normal.

That's good to hear~ The game probably kicked Shadow out of the party, but forgot to take interceptor with him. As a result, it put it on the first character slot in the registry, which is Terra

Good to hear it was fixed.

I'd love to blame reading the post on the bus for this, but no I will not. Oops.
