Which at the end of the day is more important to me than keeping the original sprites, though I prefer them - better story telling is of a higher priority.
If you disagree then you prob shouldn't play either version.
What this guy said. The GBA version is fantastic and even includes a few new extra bosses if you want to give yourself an extra challenge.
As a side note, the virtual console version of FF6 as far as I know keeps the evade bug intact while the steam and GBA version fixed it. Here's a link for more details.

No matter what you choose, have fun! As an FF7 fanboy from back in the day, even I admit that 6 has held up better than 7 in almost every aspect.
