Also, it gets really fun when you learn all Lv's skills (ike Lv5 Death and Lv3 Flare).This class is also a good support to any other classes.
It is just a very versitile mage class that can do so much, but takes a bit of effort.

And fun fact about Lv 5 Death: It ignores immunity to instant death.
No it doesn't. It just ignores resistance. (an enemy immune to Break will be immune to Spellblade Break, but any resistance below full immunity will not help it)
I never used Quina that much in IX. Anytime I had access to Quina, it was always one of those 'Would I rather have Quina or Freya?' choices. And Freya is a pretty badass character.
That whole eating mechanic was pretty annoying, to be sure.
I argue that Blue Magic is better in FF5 because your characters can be more than just blue mages. Blue Mages get some awesome magic that isn't affected by Silence, but, physically, they're nothing special. But I can mix classes together to make a super blue mage and wreck face, if I'm willing to put in the effort.
