Convince me of mastering Redmage
Each time I play FFV, I'm very tempted to lvl Redmage. (I think it's the coolest FF job ever.) However, I don't see the benefit of the X-Magic Command. Well, to put it differently: most of the time, having the option of using both Black & Time, or White & Summon, or what have you, seems more useful than being able to do Black x2.

So my question: convince me of using X-Magic. ;-)

Dual cast is the only benefit you get from it, being able to cast two spells in one turn (only white, black, time and summon magic tough!). It takes a lot of ABP to get it tough. If you are running someone with mime you can have dualcast and 2 additional spells attached to it (unless you REALLY want item/attack command on). I do have to say tough, as soon as i got dark arts, my only dual cast person was krile for support (time/summon so i can cast haste + golem/carbuncle).

Wow, I hadn't really looked into the new classes yet. X-Magic & Dark Arts seems like a worthwhile combo. Thanks for putting this up for consideration!
I'm also doubting: does Bare allow you to put three commands/abilities? Or just two?

Just out of curiosity, have you only played an older Version of FFV before? As you keep using outdated Names for certain Stuff, like Bare for Freelancer.

Anyway, yeah the Main Appeal of Dualcast is that it lets you dualcast other Magic-Varieties you have equipped as well. As such, Mimes are the best Caster Job in the Endgame, as you can slap Dualcast + any two Magics you want on the Character.

Freelancer only has two Slots, but is the best Physical Endjob, as they can equip literally any Piece of Equipment. People usually go Spellblade + Rapid Fire (as they can dual Wield by default once you master Ninja. Remember that Freelancers and Mimes learn EVERY inherent Ability from the Jobs that Character has mastered, along with each Jobs positive Stat Boosts). Usual Spellblade of choice is Flare, by the way. It's atleast infamous enough, they made it Bartz' Ex-Burst in Dissidia.

Yes, I only ever played the SNES version.
Usually, my team has mastered Monk (for STR & STA), Thief (for AGI). The two physicals have mastered Ninja & Hunter. One has MagicSword, the other most likely Blue. (God, I love Big Guard.) The two mages have mastered Summoner. One uses Black & Time, the other White & Summon.

Dualcast is not very useful late in the game, once the top-level black and white spells and mimic ability are available.

HFLolli pointed out that Mimics can be viable end-game casters, so I'm considering using a Mimic with Dualcast, Time & Black.

Dark Arts does not work with Dualcast, right?

you can dual cast every magic in the game. so this is ultimate magic command. i usualy try to max this this class later in the game, because if you get for example black magic lvl 5, red mage can use it (class command).

Thanks for pointing this out, eager to give it a try!

No you can't, Just went and tested with every magic ability that is visible under magic/skills, the only ones that are viable with dual cast are white, black, time summon and oddly enough spell blade. Everything else can't be dual casted. Late post sure, but it needs to be cleared up.

Nah, still in time to help me out. Still, being able to dualcast White & Summon or Time & Summon doesn't sound too bad.
